Solar Photovoltaic Installation Course
This course is aimed at candidates who are fit and able with little or no construction experience. They will receive the appropriate level of both underpinning knowledge and practical training that will allow the candidate, on successful completion of the course, to work on roofs fitting photovoltaic solar panel installations under supervision.
All candidates will initially carry out key skills level 2 numeracy/literacy tests to ensure the candidate has the basic fundamental key skills required for the course.
1 day Health & safety awareness which will cover the following subjects:- Manual Handling / Asbestos / Confined Spaces / Control of Substances Hazardous to Health / Safe use of Hand Tools / Abrasive Wheels.
1 day Working at heights awareness (including harness training)
2 day Solar panel installation awareness and practical training.
1 day PASMA (mobile access towers) theory and practical training.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Delegates attending this course will achieve installers certification and the PASMA card which allows them to erect, inspect and dismantle a mobile access tower.
This course does not allow the candidate, on completion of the course, to work on or near live electricity, or to carry out any electrical work (only if the candidate has attained the appropriate electrical training prior to this course).
For successful candidates wishing to gain Micro-generation Certification Scheme registration they will need to attend the 5 day “Part P” course and the 3 day 17th edition (full) wiring regulation.
